Despite the forecast for potentially heavy rainfall, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, which will remain in effect until August 5. Similarly, Thane and Palghar districts are under a yellow alert for Saturday, with an orange alert issued for August 4.
In addition, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has reported that a high tide of 4.28 meters is expected to reach Mumbai's coast at 11:47 am, followed by another high tide of 3.66 meters at 11:37 pm. A low tide of 1.70 meters is anticipated at 5:52 pm.
The civic agency also reported that during the 24-hour period ending at 8 am on Saturday, the island city recorded 12 mm of rainfall, while the eastern suburbs received 30 mm and the western suburbs saw 22 mm.
